For Saint David's Day, I took all of our eighth graders to Graham House. We started in the new sixth floor Upper Gymnasium, a space twice the size of the current 94th Street Gym, before heading down to the fourth floor and the new Eighth Grade Suite.
There, the boys and their teachers signed their names on the interior walls of the 8 Pi and 8 Theta Commons area, before they are covered in sheetrock.
The Eighth Grade Commons is a large space between the two Eighth Grade homerooms where boys will be able to gather in small groups before class or work independently on a project. It will also be a special room, designated for the Class of 2018, which they will visit when they return to their alma mater. The Class of 2018 will decide upon a name for the Commons later in the spring.
The boys were so excited to add their names, knowing they will remain forever within the walls of their school.
