Our eighth graders continue their touring of Rome while on the Italian Study Tour with their teachers.
Day 2 took them back into ancient Rome as they visited il Colosseo and Foro Romano. Il Colosseo, the world's largest amphitheater, is an architectural wonder; and the forum, a market place that was the economic, social, political and religious heart of the Republic, reveals the grandeur and philosophy of the ancient city. They remain marvels to behold.
The boys studied in depth about ancient Rome in the seventh grade; having the opportunity yesterday to stand where Caesar did nearly 2100 years ago and to consider the various historical events that occurred on those grounds, allows words read in a history text to spring to life in the minds of our boys.
