Our eighth graders have arrived in Rome and completed the first day of their 10-day Italian Study Tour. Highlights of Day One included visits to the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, and San Paolo Fuori le Mura, where Cardinal Harvey, Archpriest of the papal basilica, gave the boys a scholarly and engaging tour of the church.
And of course, there was the first gelato break! What could be better?
Over the next two weeks, the boys and their teachers will visit sites in Rome, Assisi, and Florence where they will see, in person, works they have studied this year in Humanities class, and sketch and reflect upon them in their journals.
I look forward to joining them shortly!
