Eyeing Ghirlandaio's (one of Michelangelo's teachers) fresco of S. Jerome, doctor of the church, also recently restored. The boys are appreciating the light, draping detail, cloth, deeply humanistic features, the facial expression, the influence of architecture, and use of contrast.
