This was the fourth year
Saint David’s has sent a delegation to St. Ann's Model United Nations Conference, and we were
honored to have a member of our delegation receive individual honors: Enoch A. '17 took home an honorable mention for his work as an M19
member in the Colombian Conflict.
The conference, which took place this past Saturday, was run entirely by Saint Ann's own high school Model UN association. Nine committees faced topics ranging from potential Korean reunification to the 2008 financial crisis, and the conference even included a Harry Potter themed committee dealing with the forthcoming War for Hogwarts. Prior to the conference, the boys were assigned their roles and had to submit position papers outlining the problem they faced, how it arose, and how they planned to deal with it.
They then spent Friday afternoon and all day Saturday working in their committees to solve the issues. Each committee was also subject to events created by a “crisis committee” that added new challenges forcing the students to change their strategies on the fly.
The boys did a great job! Congratulations to Enoch and the rest of the Saint David's delegation.
